Wingware Corporation has named Charlie Dalsass as Chief Technology Officer. Charlie brings more than 25 years of technology leadership to this role, most recently as CTO of iQtransit, where he spent a decade building software for transportation operations.
His background is not aviation-specific. It is transportation and logistics technology at scale, and that is exactly what Wingware needs right now.
A RELATIONSHIP A DECADE IN THE MAKING This wasn't just a hire. It was a homecoming.
The relationship goes back to 2015. Charlie first met our CEO Kent Dial shortly after Wingware was founded and stayed connected through the years. Wingware eventually became a client of iQtransit. In January 2026, Charlie officially came aboard as CTO.
Fuels360 was always the roadmap, and the team building it was taking shape the same way: deliberately, over time. In 2025 Charlie was heavily involved in the Fuels360 platform and rebrand. He worked alongside the creative team to bring the new identity to market without a day of customer downtime - so coming on board as CTO in January was perfect timing.
WHY HIS BACKGROUND FITS Cross-sector experience is a feature, bringing perspective.
Charlie's cross-sector experience, his focus on bridging the digital and physical worlds, and his cloud infrastructure depth are directly relevant to where this platform is going. His MIT graduate work sits at the intersection of civil engineering and information technology - an unusual combination for a software leader, and the right one for an operational intelligence company.
Aviation was the runway. The platform is taking off across industries and across continents.
Fuels360 is expanding beyond aviation fueling into marine, rail, oil & gas, tank farms, and GSE maintenance - with active growth into European markets, government contract opportunities and environmental on the horizon.
Marine, rail, oil & gas, tank farms, GSE maintenance.
Multi-region cloud, edge locations, JIG 1, JIG 2, JIG 3, and EASA compliant.
Defense and federal opportunities, auditable, uptime-first.
Real-time sensors, predictive maintenance, cloud-native.
A conversation with Charlie Dalsass.
On the move to Wingware, the work of bridging the analog and digital worlds, and what it takes to build for a multi-continent future.
What drew you to Wingware, and what made the move make sense?
I started working with Kent and the Wingware team back in 2015, shortly after he had founded the company. I was freelancing that summer, after exiting Neptune Web and before iQtransit had started, and I fondly remember that hot summer commuting to Faneuil Hall in Boston when I first met him. We kept in touch through the years, and Wingware eventually became a client of iQtransit.
Over the years, it was great to watch Kent and his team patiently build the company step-by-step, and then see the results. In 2025, we started exploring the possibility of me coming aboard as CTO, and 2026 seemed the perfect time.
It's so nice to be working with people, product, and an industry you've known for a long time. You can just jump into the work after a short re-introduction, and I already knew most of the acronyms and terms used in aviation fueling. Trust me, there are a lot of acronyms in this field.
How does your transportation and logistics background apply as the platform expands into rail, marine, and energy?
I've always viewed the integration of the digital and analog worlds as one long continuum. iQtransit was part of that, but there is much more to come in this next phase.
For example, I'm interested in real-time sensor data and analysis for predictive maintenance, bridging the analog and digital worlds. And that's something we're actively working on at Wingware right now.
You were involved in the Fuels360 rebrand and the F360 Tickets launch before the CTO role was official. What did that work actually look like?
Honestly, it was a lot of fun. The transition itself went really smoothly, nothing unexpected, and customers had no interruption or downtime. The creative and marketing team were really easy to work with.
And I really love the new branding. Why? Because it clearly says we have great 360-degree coverage in fueling. I'm even more proud of the company and the product with the new brand.
Your MIT graduate work sits at civil engineering and IT. How does that combination shape the way you approach technology problems?
I've always seen myself differently than classical computer science folks. I tend to be much more practical and like to find solutions in the gap between the digital world and the physical world. From civil engineering, I have an appreciation for the physicality, mass, and scale of physical systems.
On the latest tech: although I like to explore the bleeding edge, I usually wait for others to experiment. For real projects, the solutions I put out have to be battle-tested and proven. I'm always looking for solutions that last, not just the newest thing.
I also see the elegance, aesthetic, and beauty in this work, not just the numbers. Whether it's a UI or an elegant solution to an IT problem, I try to see the art as well as the science.
Wingware is expanding into European markets and positioning for government contracts. What does that require, technically?
Speed, flexibility, adaptation, quality. A multi-continent future will require more configurations, faster deployments, and global situational awareness. We need to be fully cloud in everything we do, taking advantage of edge locations, for example, for low latency and a better user experience.
We also need to be more flexible. Our software has to adapt to different fueling regulations across regions - from ATA and CSA in North America to JIG in Europe. Trust me - there's a lot of acronyms in this field!!
And we need to keep learning at every opportunity. Personally, I'll continue with my AWS courses, and I'm encouraging the team to keep educating themselves as well.
What does the CTO role mean to you at this stage of Wingware's growth? Why now, why here?
I'm thrilled to be in this position, and I love what the company is doing. It's at a phase where it's really picking up steam, and I love being part of that journey and giving it 100%.
At this stage in a company, there is so much to do on the technology side, and I believe unified, strong technical leadership is vital for growth. It's going to be a great year.
Is there anything about how you work, or how you think about leadership, that wouldn't show up in a title or a résumé?
Yes, my personal life is centered on faith, family, and friends. I draw a lot of strength from the generations of engineers and scientists before me, my ancestors worked in ship design and submarine research. I see my work today as an extension of that.
My values of honor and integrity are extremely important to me, and upholding those values in my work is how, I believe, leadership is done well.
